About this website

Sensu is an observability pipeline and monitoring platform that delivers monitoring as code on any cloud infrastructure, from bare metal servers to Kubernetes clusters. The latest version 6.14.2 codifies monitoring workflows into declarative configuration files that can be shared among team members, version controlled in Git, reviewed through pull requests, and deployed through CI/CD pipelines. This infrastructure-as-code approach eliminates manual configuration and enables reproducible monitoring setups across environments. The platform consolidates existing monitoring tools and fills gaps in observability by integrating with Nagios plugins, StatsD, Telegraf, Prometheus endpoints, and hundreds of other monitoring solutions through a flexible check execution framework. Sensu provides a publish-subscribe model where agents running on monitored hosts subscribe to topic-based subscriptions and execute checks on demand or on schedule. The event pipeline allows routing, filtering, mutator transformation, and handler-based alerting to PagerDuty, Slack, Ansible Tower, Elasticsearch, and other downstream systems. Sensu supports built-in metric extraction, allowing check output to be parsed and forwarded to time-series databases like InfluxDB, Graphite, or Prometheus. The platform offers multi-tenancy for managed service providers, role-based access control, and an enterprise dashboard for visualization and management. With the sensuctl CLI tool, the entire monitoring infrastructure can be exported, imported, and managed as YAML configuration.
