About this website

Skild is building a general-purpose robotic intelligence system designed to operate across diverse physical platforms and task domains. Unlike conventional AI that remains confined to digital environments, Skild’s core product—the “Skild Brain”—is a unified, omni-bodied neural architecture that can control any type of robot for any type of physical task. The company’s fundamental thesis is that physical AI should not be limited by specific robot hardware or predefined task categories; instead, it should possess a general understanding of the physical world, enabling it to reason, plan, and act in real-world environments. The Skild Brain functions as a single, adaptable control system that integrates perception, decision-making, and motor commands. It can be deployed on wheeled robots, legged robots, manipulators, drones, or custom platforms without requiring task-specific retraining. This generality is achieved through a learning framework that ingests data from a wide variety of robotic experiences—teleoperation, simulation, real-world sensor streams—and distills them into a shared representation of physics, geometry, and object interaction. One specific application area Skild focuses on is security and inspection robotics. The Skild Brain enables robots to autonomously navigate complex indoor and outdoor environments—such as warehouses, construction sites, power plants, or industrial facilities—while performing visual inspection, anomaly detection, and perimeter monitoring. The system uses onboard sensors (cameras, LiDAR, depth sensors) to build a real-time understanding of the scene, identify unexpected changes or hazards, and execute appropriate actions, such as repositioning for a better view, sounding an alarm, or returning to a base station. Beyond inspection, th
