About this website
SST is a TypeScript-first framework for building and deploying full-stack applications on Amazon Web Services, developed by Anomaly Innovations. The framework enables developers to define their entire cloud infrastructure, including databases, APIs, authentication, queues, and frontend applications, using a single TypeScript configuration file with full type safety and autocompletion. Component constructors cover common infrastructure patterns including managed databases through PlanetScale and other providers, transactional email services, container services with configurable memory and CPU, Next.js applications with automatic CloudFront distribution and Route53 DNS, and static file hosting. The resource linking system automatically wires components together, injecting connection credentials and IAM permissions without manual configuration. The live development mode provides hot reloading for both frontend and backend code simultaneously, with real-time infrastructure updates as the configuration changes. The deploy command handles the complete deployment lifecycle including building, packaging, and uploading assets, creating or updating CloudFormation stacks, managing DNS records, and configuring CDN distributions. SST ion, the latest generation of the framework, is built on a new infrastructure engine that supports multi-cloud deployment beyond AWS, with first-class support for Cloudflare and other providers. The framework integrates with popular frontend frameworks including Next.js, Astro, Remix, SolidStart, SvelteKit, TanStack Start, and Vite. Windows support is currently in beta. Used by thousands of teams for production workloads. Open source under the MIT license with an active Discord community.
