StarByFace is a web-based application designed to identify which celebrities a user most resembles by analyzing facial features from uploaded photographs. The core functionality revolves around a three-step process that begins with the user selecting or uploading a frontal image containing a single person. The system imposes specific recommendations: the face must be clearly visible, ideally with direct eye contact and minimal obstructions such as glasses or heavy shadows. Higher resolution and better image quality directly improve the accuracy of the facial recognition algorithm. Once an image is provided, the underlying neural network performs facial detection to locate key landmarks—including eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, and overall face shape—and constructs a unique facial pattern or encoding. This pattern is then compared against a database of thousands of celebrity faces using a deep learning model trained on diverse facial features. The comparison generates a similarity score for each celebrity, and the top matches are displayed to the user, usually with a percentage indicating how closely the user’s face matches each celebrity’s features. The results are presented in a simple, visual format that allows the user to see the matched celebrity photos side by side with their own uploaded image. A notable aspect of the service is its strict privacy policy: uploaded photos are not stored on the server.
