About this website

Typora is a minimal, distraction-free Markdown editor that provides a seamless live preview experience. Unlike traditional Markdown editors that show source text and rendered preview side-by-side, Typora renders Markdown inline, so what you see is what you get. Developed by Lee Abner (also known as typora-io) and first released in 2014, Typora has become one of the most popular Markdown editors for writers, bloggers, and developers. Key features: live rendering: as you type Markdown, it is instantly rendered into formatted text. Headings appear large, bold text appears bold, lists appear as lists, code blocks appear with syntax highlighting. To edit the Markdown source, simply click on the rendered text. File tree: sidebar file browser for managing multiple documents and folders. Outline panel: auto-generated table of contents from headings for quick navigation. Export: export to PDF, HTML, Word (.docx), OpenDocument, LaTeX, RTF, ePub, and image formats. Customizable export templates. Themes: over 30 built-in themes (GitHub, Newsprint, Pixyll, Whitey, Night) and a CSS-based theme system. Custom themes can be created. Code highlighting: syntax highlighting for over 100 programming languages using highlight.js. Math support: render LaTeX math equations using MathJax. Diagrams: render Mermaid diagrams, sequence diagrams, flowcharts, and other visual diagrams. Tables: visual table editor with drag-to-resize columns and rows. Images: drag-and-drop image insertion with automatic upload to configured image hosting services (PicGo, uPic, etc.). Focus mode: highlight the current paragraph and dim the rest. Typewriter mode: keep the current line vertically centered. File links: link between documents. Auto-save and version recovery. Cross-platform: Windows, macOS, Linux. Electron/JavaScript. Proprietary, paid (one-time license fee).
