About this website

WinSCP (Windows Secure Copy) is a free and open-source SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, and S3 client for Microsoft Windows. Created in 2000 by Martin Prikryl (who remains the lead developer), WinSCP is developed in the Czech Republic and has become the standard secure file transfer client for Windows, with over 150 million downloads. The project is maintained by Martin Prikryl's company (Institute of Mathematics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, and later WinSCP net). Key features: protocol support: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol versions 3-6), SCP (Secure Copy Protocol), FTP, FTPS (FTP over TLS, both explicit and implicit), WebDAV (HTTP/HTTPS), and S3 (Amazon S3 compatible storage). SSH key authentication: support for RSA, DSA, ECDSA, and Ed25519 keys. Integrates with Pageant (PuTTY authentication agent) for SSH agent forwarding.
