WorkOS is a set of API building blocks that help B2B application developers add enterprise-ready authentication features, enabling startups to sell to large organizations that require single sign-on, directory synchronization, and audit logging. The Admin Portal gives each customer organization a self-service dashboard for configuring their SSO connection, managing directory sync, and downloading audit logs, reducing the support burden on the application vendor. User management APIs handle organization-scoped user records, role assignments, group membership, and permission checks. The platform is designed for the B2B use case where each customer organization has its own identity configuration, with multi-tenant architecture that isolates each organization's settings and user directory.
