Gitea Self-Hosted Git Platform

Gitea is a lightweight, self-hosted Git service that provides source code hosting, code review, issue tracking, pull requests, wikis, and continuous integration in a single binary that can run on minimal hardware. Written in Go, the application compiles to a standalone executable with no runtime dependencies, making deployment as simple as downloading one file and running it on any operating system including Linux, Windows, macOS, and ARM-based devices like Raspberry Pi. A Docker image and Helm chart are also available for containerized and Kubernetes deployments. The web interface offers repository browsing with syntax-highlighted source viewing, blame view, commit history graphs, branch comparison, and file editing directly in the browser. Pull requests support line-level comments, review approval workflows, merge strategies including merge commit, squash, rebase, and head-only fast-forward. Issue tracking includes labels, milestones, time tracking, due dates, assignable tasks, and dependency relationships between issues. The built-in CI system, called Gitea Actions, executes YAML-defined workflows using runner agents compatible with GitHub Actions syntax, enabling automated testing and deployment pipelines. Organizations can configure teams with granular permission levels across repositories. The platform includes a package registry supporting Docker, npm, Maven, NuGet, Composer, PyPI, and Debian formats. An ActivityPub implementation allows federated interactions between instances. The RESTful API covers all functionality, and a command-line tool provides administration capabilities.
