Singapore Cycle and Motor Traders Association

The Singapore Cycle and Motor Traders Association, abbreviated SCMTA, is a trade association representing businesses engaged in the sale, service, and repair of bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, and related parts and accessories in Singapore. The Association's members include motorcycle dealerships representing brands such as Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Piaggio, bicycle shops, spare parts distributors, and repair workshops located across Singapore from Alexandra Road to Kaki Bukit Industrial Estate. Singapore has strict vehicle regulations including the Certificate of Entitlement system that controls vehicle ownership, and motorcycles are a popular mode of transport with over one hundred fifty thousand registered motorcycles on the roads. SCMTA advocates for its members on regulatory issues including vehicle emission standards, licensing requirements for motorcycle dealers, safety inspection requirements, and the impact of the vehicle quota system on motorcycle sales.
