Singapore Manufacturing Federation

The Singapore Manufacturing Federation, abbreviated SMF, formerly known as the Singapore Manufacturers Association, was established in 1932 and is one of the oldest and largest business associations in Singapore with over three thousand corporate members. Headquartered in Singapore, SMF represents the manufacturing sector which remains a cornerstone of the Singaporean economy despite the country's growth as a financial services hub, contributing approximately twenty percent of GDP and employing hundreds of thousands of workers across electronics, precision engineering, chemicals, biomedical sciences, and aerospace components. The Federation operates ten industry groups covering electronics, precision engineering, chemicals, biomedical, aerospace, food manufacturing, environmental technology, energy, logistics, and additive manufacturing. SMF provides training and certification programs through its SMF Academy, organizes the annual Singapore Manufacturing Forum, conducts business missions to ASEAN countries and China, and advocates on behalf of manufacturers on issues such as Industry 4.0 transformation, supply chain resilience, workforce development, and energy costs.
