Singapore TCM Organizations

The Singapore Chinese Physicians and Medicinal Products Associations is a trade body representing traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, retailers, and importers of Chinese medicinal materials in Singapore. Singapore has a significant Chinese population descended from immigrants who arrived from Guangdong, Fujian, and other southern Chinese provinces, and traditional Chinese medicine remains widely practiced alongside Western medicine in the multiethnic society. The organization represents Chinese medicine halls and pharmacies that line streets in Chinatown, Geylang, and other neighborhoods across Singapore, where practitioners dispense herbal remedies, acupuncture services, and health consultation to the local community. The association works with the Ministry of Health and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board to ensure compliance with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Act, facilitates the importation and quality control of medicinal herbs from China, organizes continuing education for registered TCM practitioners, and promotes the integration of traditional medicine into Singapore's healthcare system.
