Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association

The Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association Limited, abbreviated GMSA, is the trade organization representing the manufacturing and services sectors of Guyana's economy, headquartered in Georgetown. The association represents companies across manufacturing subsectors including food and beverage processing, packaging, wood products, construction materials, chemicals, and garments, as well as service providers in logistics, information technology, professional consulting, and tourism. The GMSA advocates on behalf of the non-extractive private sector for policies that support industrial development and economic diversification beyond the dominant gold mining and emerging petroleum sectors. Key focus areas include addressing high electricity costs that constrain manufacturing competitiveness, advocating for improved port and road infrastructure, promoting the utilization of local materials and labor in government procurement contracts, and supporting Guyanese manufacturers in accessing export markets through the CARICOM regional trade agreement and bilateral trade arrangements with trading partners.
