ChinaSo (中国搜索) is a national-level search engine and central news website operated under the supervision of Xinhua News Agency. Established in February 2014, it was jointly founded by seven major Chinese central news organizations, including People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, and China Central Television. As a state-backed information technology enterprise, ChinaSo positions itself as a "national search platform" that combines news dissemination, data services, and digital cultural innovation. The platform’s primary function is to provide a search engine tailored to Chinese users, indexing a wide range of content such as news articles, government announcements, academic resources, and multimedia materials. Unlike general-purpose search engines, ChinaSo emphasizes authoritative and verified information, prioritizing results from official sources, state media, and trusted institutions. Users can search for real-time news, historical archives, and specialized topics like policy documents, cultural heritage, and scientific reports. Beyond basic search, ChinaSo integrates multiple specialized sub-platforms. "China Good Stories" (中国好故事) is a multilingual content library that showcases Chinese culture, history, and contemporary achievements through videos, articles, and interactive media. This feature targets international audiences and domestic users interested in cultural narratives. "Shi Cang" (时藏) is a digital asset marketplace that offers blockchain-based certificates for collectibles, artworks, and intellectual properties, enabling creators and institutions to tokenize and trade digital assets securely. "Journalist Home" (记者之家) provides tools and resources for professional journalists, including fact-checking databases, investigation guides, and legal advisory services.
