Coda is a cloud-based collaborative workspace that combines the flexibility of documents, the structure of spreadsheets, the logic of applications, and the intelligence of artificial intelligence. It allows teams to create, edit, and manage content in a single environment without switching between multiple tools. Users can start with a blank canvas or choose from hundreds of templates for project management, meeting notes, product roadmaps, OKR tracking, content calendars, and more. Each “doc” in Coda can contain text, tables, buttons, formulas, calendars, and embedded media, behaving like a mini application. The platform supports real-time co-editing, comments, and threaded discussions, enabling distributed teams to work together synchronously or asynchronously. Coda’s table features resemble spreadsheets but are fully integrated with the document. You can define columns with different data types (text, number, date, dropdown, checkbox, etc.), sort and filter rows, and create cross-doc references. Formulas similar to spreadsheet functions allow calculations, lookups, and conditional logic directly inside tables. You can also use buttons to trigger actions like sending a notification, updating a cell, or running a Pack integration. Packs are third-party integrations that extend Coda’s capabilities. They connect to popular services such as Slack, Google Calendar, Jira, Asana, Salesforce, GitHub, Figma, and many others. With Packs, you can pull data from external tools into Coda tables, push updates back, or automate workflows. For example, a team can create a project tracker that automatically syncs tasks from Jira, sends reminders via Slack, and updates a timeline chart.
