About this website
The Hospitality Association of Namibia, abbreviated HAN, is the industry body representing the hospitality and tourism accommodation sector in Namibia, with its office in Windhoek. Founded to unite hotels, guest farms, lodges, bed and breakfast establishments, campsites, rest camps and restaurants across Namibia, HAN represents the interests of the formal hospitality sector in one of Africa's premier tourism destinations. Namibia's tourism industry is built on the country's extraordinary natural attractions including the Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world, the wildlife-rich Etosha National Park, the towering sand dunes of Sossusvlei, and the Skeleton Coast. Tourism contributes approximately fifteen percent of Namibia's GDP and is a major employer. HAN monitors hospitality industry standards, advocates on tourism policy issues including grading and classification regulations, visa policies, tourism levies, and air connectivity to Namibia through Hosea Kutako International Airport near Windhoek.
